APM Group’s Directors are the sole owners of the business and are backed by an experienced team of 50+ long term and highly skilled permanent employees, to deliver quality construction services to clients throughout metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.

All of our Director’s maintain an active role in the procurement, design and delivery of projects and we pride ourselves on repeat business with experience in both traditional construct only and design & construct contracts.

As a business we have an over 30 year proven track record of delivering a diverse range of commercial construction projects for corporate, institutional and government clients.  Through a truly diverse project portfolio, we have significant experience and have developed a Director led client service culture of adding value to projects by understanding the specific needs of Client’s.

APM Group's strong financial management allows the company to operate without an overdraft facility, to manage its substantial cash reserves and sustain its daily operations.

All APM Group projects are supported by bank guarantees from National Australia Bank - APM Group's banker for over 20 years.

CAPABILITY

APM Group of companies was founded in 1989 and utilising our over 30 years experience in the Victorian construction industry, we specialise in the delivery of commercial buildings and infrastructure across a wide variety of project disciplines. From our inception, we have grown to a turnover ranging between 60 - 90M per annum.

We have successfully completed over 750 separate construction projects for corporate and institutional clients throughout Victoria, and maintain pre-qualification on the Victorian Construction Supplier Register through yearly financial checks.

As a private company, APM’s shareholders are the Directors, who are directly responsible in the negotiation and daily management of projects. This enables us to drive our core values of our business to develop collaborative relationships, retain clients through service and ultimately deliver value.

APM's strategy for the past few years is 'better not bigger', supported by existing Bank Guarantees and Insurance Bond facilities. We are justifiably proud of the fact that we have never operated with borrowings; our cash reserves adequately sustain not only our daily operations but also support these project security facilities.

APM undertakes a mix of Design & Construct (D&C) or build only contracts. These projects are procured either through tender or through negotiation with clients (ratio of approximately 50:50). With the evolution of the market, we have also undertaken a range of project development roles under Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), partnering with clients and consultant teams to manage successful project outcomes where construction input is required in the design and planning phase of a project.

PAUL HOWARD

Director

While Paul has been with APM for 31 years, his construction career spans over 41 years covering the whole spectrum of mid-range commercial construction in all fields including residential, commercial, retail and industrial construction. Paul has been a Director at APM for over 20 years.

APM’s clients can deal directly with Paul on all issues from project commencement right through to completion and beyond. He has direct control over all project issues, including programming, staff allocation, industrial relations, quality and occupational health & safety. With a deep understanding of all issues affecting our industry, Paul’s fundamental role at APM is to ensure each project is completed to our clients’ total satisfaction.

MATTHEW DOLE

Managing Director

Matthew's construction industry experience spans more than 31 years and has included working with Tier 1 builders. For more than 16 years, he has been a Director at APM. Matthew manages contracts, finance, administration and front-end estimating roles at APM, maintaining customer relationships whilst sourcing and negotiating new work. His extensive experience in Project Management and Estimating equips him to provide clients with program, pricing and buildability advice through project development to tender, construction and design management.

Matthew continues to successfully develop relationships across the consultant and client project group, delivering on APM's commitment to reputation and to deliver above and beyond client expectations.

MARCUS WORN

Marcus’ experience includes numerous large-scale construction projects for Tier 1 builders before joining APM in 2009 as Project Director, followed by Regional Manager for the BroadAPM joint venture. In this role, Marcus led the delivery of the D&C, 5 Star Greenstar Monash University NRAS project and the 45-storey Urbanest Student Accommodation Project.

For the last 8 years, Marcus has overseen the design, management and delivery of projects at APM, utilising his extensive experience in technical construction, programming and logistics to provide value management, leading consultant and project teams. He is also directly involved in the delivery of project design to industry compliance.

MATT GILMOUR

Matt has 31 years of construction experience gained in Singapore, Sydney and predominantly Melbourne, across sectors such as industrial, commercial and  luxury residential and retail with local and international clients and designers.  Matt thrives on building teams and leading them to produce high quality results, enjoying the process from early concept design working with design consultants right through the project delivery and client occupation.

With a pragmatic approach to ensuring results surpass our clients’ expectations, Matt ensures our construction teams deliver our projects to strict programs in accordance with detailed and measurable quality assurance and HSEQ policies.

THOMAS SKINNER

Thomas has over 16 years of industry experience delivering a diverse range of commercial projects nationally across the retail, education, aged care and government sectors as Project Manager. This experience is coupled with formal qualifications in Construction Management from RMIT. As part of APM’s leadership team, Thomas is entrusted with leading the delivery of the business’s key projects ensuring timely, high quality outcomes which meet our client’s expectations.
