REGIS MCKINLEY HOUSE, ARMADALE

The new, five-level aged care facility represents the emerging medium-density model for aged care. Working on a tight site with restricted access along the busy Dandenong Road, the project included the construction of an 83-bed high-care facility, including concierge hotel services and 24-hour medical facilities. The new building was constructed over basement level incorporating car parking, services and staff facilities, commercial laundry and kitchen. Environmental design elements successfully incorporated in the development include rainwater capture and ozone recycling of waste water for reuse. The high care facility incorporates specialist services and design requirements for dementia patients.
