CHISHOLM TAFE BUILDING C & E

We are engaged to provide a new plumbing license testing area for the campus. The work consists of the demolition of existing carparks and gardens as well as partial demolition of an adjacent building. The new building will provide the necessary skills bays and sand pit for the graduating plumbers to show all their trade skills in welding and layering of pipes and commissioning gas fed equipment before they enter the industry as fully qualified tradesmen. The building is a slab on ground, founded on bored piles due to the instability of the local soils. We then construct a steel frame and clad it with blockwork and new colour bond roofing. Challenges include working in a fully operating campus and ensuring no interruption to the operational mobile phone tower sitting adjacent to the site. The final product includes all new landscaping and footpaths for students and staff.
