KILLESTER COLLEGE

We are constructing a new senior centre for the Killester College year 11 and 12 students which comprises state of the art classrooms with Audio Visual capabilities in every room. Student break out areas including kitchen facilities and open learning spaces spread out over 2 levels. There are also dedicated PE spaces inclusive of classroom and gym areas on a cushioned sports floor. The structure is a concrete slab on ground with concrete columns supporting a level 1 Post Tensioned slab. Above this is a structural steel frame supporting a clerestory roof area for natural light to both levels. The externals are a mix of face brickwork, lightweight aluminium cladding in the school colours and a multicoloured aluminium and glass façade which is top hung from the structural steel. Alongside this new building we are refurbishing the existing Kennedy Hall sports stadium. It is being extended and fitted with a new roof inclusive of solar panels and internally all new walls and sports floor. This area is also fitted out with audio visual capabilities and sports court markings and equipment for basketball, netball, badminton and volleyball. New Lighting and mechanical systems are also fitted to the sports area. Externally we are providing all new landscaping with quiet areas for students as well as new carparking for staff and visitors.
