JUDY LAZARUS TRANSITION CENTRE

The construction of the prisoner transition centre included three accommodation buildings and an administration block adjacent to the existing remand centre, providing a reintegration program for prisoners returning to society. The site was originally occupied by a two-storey red brick warehouse and had extensive soil contamination. Post tender, APM worked with the design team to develop an EPA approved alternative design, limiting the extent of contaminated soil removal to meet Department of Justice budget requirements.
